UK's first dedicated gay and lesbian job database launches


Monday 17th March saw the launch of a new ‘JobSearch' facility (presumably unrelated to the hotonline job-board of the same name), billed as the UK's first fully comprehensive online gay and lesbian job database and application tool.

Introduced by and sister site (respectively gay and lesbian social and business network sites), the new service aims to revolutionise the way the country's estimated 1.6m gay and lesbian employees can identify gay-friendly employers and jobs.  Free to job-seekers, it already features some 2,000 jobs and also offers a developing recruitment resource centre providing lists of gay professional business organisations, career-building tools, distance-learning courses and more.

The employers listed are committed to equality and diversity in the workplace, and support the Stonewall Diversity Champions programme and the Corporate Equality Index.
