Top Employers to work for in the UK 2019

The Top Employers Institute has released its list of Certified UK Top Employers for 2019.

A total of 90 employers have made this year’s list, including 12 organisations that have been certified for the first time, which were unveiled last week at London’s Hilton on Park Lane.

Kuehne + Nagel, Avon Cosmetics and Mitie Group were among the 12 organisations that were newly certified.

The Top Employers Institute Programme provides certified organisations with the ability to leverage their employer branding, benchmark their practices against other top performers and globally align their policies. In order to be certified, organisations must successfully achieve the required minimum standard as set out by the Top Employers Institute.

The annual research, undertaken by the Top Employers Institute, recognises employers around the world by assessing employee offerings across ten categories: talent strategy; workforce planning; talent acquisition; onboarding; learning and development; performance management; leadership development; career and succession management, compensation and benefits; and culture.  The Top Employers Institute evaluates the implementation of these HR practices and reviews how they are supported through Strategy, Ownership, Practices, Measurement and Technology.

Phil Sproston, UK Country Manager at the Top Employers Institute, says, “This year’s Top Employers are really leading the way when it comes to creating progressive ‘people-first’ HR practices. We’ve seen outstanding best practice across every aspect of the employee lifecycle; leading-edge people strategies that are truly delivering a better world of work.

“The Certification Dinner gave our Top Employers the opportunity to pause and recognise the individuals and teams who are really driving this change and creating fantastic places to work.”
