New data from CV-Library, the UK’s leading independent job board, reveals that job growth is strong across the UK, with Hull leading the table.

The research compared statistics from Q2 2018, with that of Q2 2017.

Data found that the nation as a whole witnessed an 11.6% increase in advertised vacancies during this period. The top 10 cities for job growth include:

1. Hull – jobs up by 38%
2. Liverpool – jobs up by 19.7%
3. Sheffield – jobs up by 18.9%
4. Leeds – jobs up by 15.2%
5. London – jobs up by 14.2%
6. Glasgow – jobs up by 13.5%
7. Edinburgh – jobs up by 12.1%
8. Newcastle – jobs up by 11.6%
9. Manchester – jobs up by 10.7%
10. Birmingham – jobs up by 10.6%

Lee Biggins, founder and managing director of CV-Library, comments: “Another year has passed and there’s still a great deal of uncertainty surrounding Brexit and what this will mean for many businesses across the UK.

“This is particularly true right now following the resignation of both the Foreign Secretary and Secretary of State, which will inevitably delay Brexit negotiations. Yet despite this, employers across the UK appear to be showing resilience, as they’ve continued to drive their recruitment efforts in the last 12 months.”
