The FIRM Awards 2018 - all the winners

 

The winners of the 2018 FIRM Awards have been announced, following last night’s awards ceremony.

Now in their fifth year, The FIRM Awards act as an inspiration to fellow members of The FIRM, setting the standard for in-house recruiters and providing an opportunity for members to recognise the achievements of their peers.

The awards ceremony, hosted by comedian Russell Kane, saw 15 category awards handed out, with a range of agencies and employers represented across the board.

Best Candidate Experience

  • Barclays (Supported by Capp & Co)
    The judges said the strengths of this entry lay in the innovative documentaries presented to candidates and the valuable career coaching call feature among many others.

Best Careers Site

  • Warburtons (Supported by Basis Media)
    Warburtons rose to the top with a fun and lively site which captured brand brilliantly and played seamlessly across all devices.

Best Development of an Employer Brand

  • Kerry Foods (Supported by SMRS)
    The judges praised this creative and fun campaign which went to exceptional lengths to involve the business right from defining the EVP to the creative content. The Judges also highly commended Hastings Direct and Sky Betting and Gaming for exceptional entries.

Best Diversity & Inclusion Recruitment Strategy

  • Civil Service Fast Stream and Early Talent
    An incredible, stellar job, the judges said, with an entry where nothing was left missing, and work which will make a real difference to the lives and careers of so many across the UK. 

Best Employee Referral Programme

  • Assurant (Supported by Creed Communications)
    The Judges were impressed by the high referral rates, and particularly by the high levels of internal engagement evident from the initiative.

Best Emerging Talent Programme

  • BT (Supported by Sonru)
    The judges loved this digitally focussed solution employing video and VR for a detailed long term apprenticeship strategy. The judges also highly commended SAP for a very strong entry.

Best On-Boarding Experience

  • Suez Recycling and Recovery UK LTD (Supported by 3D Marcomms)
    The Judges were impressed with use of automation and the innovative online induction planner portal, and commended the great turnaround in measured candidate feedback.

In-House Recruiter of the Year

  • Charlotte Lamping (TFL)
    Amongst some excellent entries, Charlotte stood out as having delivered an incredible amount with challenging targets in a complex environment. The judges also highly commended Danny MKillop of National Grid for a very strong nomination.

Innovation of the Year

  • Sky Betting & Gaming (Supported by Chatter)
    The judges were spoilt for choice this year, but at the fore, and one of two entries involving Chat Bots, Sky Betting and Gaming presented a really innovated fully natural language chat bot that really captivated candidates and judges alike.

Outstanding Impact Transformation & Change

  • Balfour Beatty
    The judges were impressed with the huge scale of transformation at Balfour Beatty in a relatively short period of time, with some significant changes driven through across a wide range of recruitment areas. The judges also highly commended National Grid for a fantastic programme of work.

Recruitment Team of the Year

  • Transport for London
    A fantastic example of a best in class resourcing function, the judges said, and one of the strongest entries of the whole awards, one veteran judge noted.

Best Social Recruitment Strategy

  • The John Lewis Partnership (Supported by Enhance Media)
    The judges highly rated the way culture and brand was promoted on social media, with a clear use of solid analytics to drive decisions.

Best Supplier Partnership

  • TMP Worldwide (Supported by The AA)
    The Judges said this was a great example of effective partnership, with TMP influencing and impacting a broad range of recruitment channels at the AA.

Best Use of Mobile

  • Rolls Royce (Supported by Cut-e)
    Rolls Royce excelled in this category, and presented an immensely impactful mobile experience, impressing every one of the judges.

Recruitment Leader of the Year

  • Rebecca Foden (TFL)
    Rebecca demonstrated clear thought leadership, and has achieved fantastic results for TFL, notably with some valuable diversity and outreach goals. A testament to Rebecca’s leadership are these 3 award wins tonight!
