Tender: Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy

The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) is looking for a supplier to overhaul its employer brand.

Given the breadth and depth of the appointments, BEIS needs to maintain a strong and diverse talent pipeline. It also looks to support its people to compete for existing and future roles in related arm’s-length bodies that it sponsors.

With this in mind, BEIS is looking review its current offering to individuals with an interest in public service.

BEIS’ overarching goal is to attract and retain excellent candidates, through a strong and compelling brand that can be used to market public appointments.

BEIS aims to:

  • Have a clear and compelling offer for candidates that can be used to market roles to potential candidates
  • Understand competition in both the public and private sectors, by researching the competitive landscape and comparing BEIS against it
  • Identify points of differentiation to be used to communicate to candidates the opportunities available within BEIS
  • Ensure the opportunities on offer appeal to candidates and can provide the credibility and kudos they crave.
  • Have a better understanding of how and where to search for potential candidates

  • Undertake a brand review to analyse how the BEIS employer brand is currently performing
  • Produce best practice guidance for future campaigns - this should set out an ‘exemplar’ in terms of how BEIS can attract a high quality and diverse candidates to our roles
  • Set out a future marketing strategy
