SodaStream’s new recruitment video – what’s not to like?

 

Every so often, you come across a recruitment campaign that gets it right. And this new video from SodaStream entitled ‘Join the Revolution’ has got us wanting to sign up.

Why? Well, despite its slight cheesiness, it feels authentic and genuine. Central to the video is the company’s CEO, Daniel Birnbaum. Right from the start, his messaging is relevant and on point. In a world that’s being chastised for falling into the single-use-plastic trap, SodaStrream have been doing it right from the get go. With one reusable bottle, they’ve been bucking the trend for a long time. And it’s something they’re rightly proud of. They’re rainmakers! And they need more people to keep up with their growth.

Shot at SodaStream’s international headquarters and at its global manufacturing campus in Israel, the video gets across their culture incredibly well. By being self-deprecating and humorous, drawing on real staff members and using Game of Thrones Star Thor Bjornsson to help bring the qualities they’re looking for in potential candidates to life… they’ve created a video that really works. We have to say we’re sold.  

But don’t just take our word for it, have a look for yourself.

Birnbaum said, "SodaStream is all about people and attracting extraordinary talent requires extraordinary methods. No more piles of resumes for us.  The world is changing and just like we need to be creative in attracting our customers, we need to be super creative in attracting new talent.  We are looking for people who are courageous, creative, have a sense of urgency and are excited to make the world a better place.  We are growing fast and recruit only those people who can move mountains. People who think they have what it takes should reach out.  I have a job for them.”

Great campaign but does SodaStream really still exist? I thought it had died out in the early 1980's, like Spangles......

Steve.. they've been quietly ploughing away.... campaigns about using them to turn white wine into prosecco have been around on social for a while, for example. It seems clear they're about to have a significant resurgence to combat the plastic bottle issue - a massive opportunity for Sodastream!
