Ryan Bridgeman, Sales Director for UK and Ireland, has joined Jobrapido to head up its new UK office in London.

Ryan has more than 20 years’ experience in the recruitment industry. Prior to joining Jobrapido, he was Sales Director for Monster where he worked for 14 years.

The latest news reflects the continued growth and expansion of Jobrapido since it was established in 2006

London Ambulance Service

London Ambulance Service has announced Ali Layne-Smith, Director of People and Organisation Development at West Midlands Police, will join the Trust as the Director of People and Culture.

Ali has had a long and distinguished career already with over 20 years’ of HR experience in large, high profile organisations spanning both the public and private sector. She joins London Ambulance Service from West Midlands Police where she has spent the last two and a half years as their first Director of People and Organisation Development.

Ali will lead the People and Culture Directorate – a team of 65 which encompasses areas including Talent, Workforce Analytics and Engagement, Diversity and Inclusion, Employee Relations, Staff Experience and Leadership and Performance.


The People and Change experts announced the appointment of Elaine Stephens as Head of People Development.

As Head of People Development, Elaine is stepping into the role on an interim basis while Kim Foster takes maternity leave.

Elaine brings to Connor a unique combination of L&D and Talent Management with commercial expertise and over 18 years’ experience in the pharma biotech sector. Elaine’s experience spans high profile HR roles including Executive Director in Global Talent Management at Chiltern (a Covance Company).

Nodal Labs

Garreth Gaydon has joined the company as the Director of Talent Engagement.

Formerly the Global Head of Talent at The Mill, Garreth directed talent acquisition across London, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Bangalore.

Garreth’s role at Nodal will focus on helping the company to continue to attract the best talent while also driving sign-ups amongst both freelancers and agencies to the platform.


Audio branding agency PHMG has appointed Gareth Watt as Head of Talent Acquisition and Development.

Gareth joins the company to support ongoing global growth plans and will be both spearheading the entire recruitment process while managing the continual development of staff across the business.

He brings more than 12 years of experience in blue chip and digital media businesses to the role, having previously worked for Dentsu Aegis Network as UK Head of Recruitment, and Barclaycard in senior people resourcing positions.


Vodafone has appointed Leanne Wood as Chief Human Resources Officer, effective 1 April 2019. Leanne joined the Executive Committee and will report to Vodafone Group Chief Executive Nick Read.

Leanne had been the Chief People, Strategy and Corporate Affairs Officer for Burberry Plc since 2015. Prior to that, she worked for Diageo Plc for 15 years in a variety of roles, including as their Group HR Director. She has also worked in strategy and finance for Allied Domecq Plc, LEK Consulting and United Distillers Guinness Plc.
