PepsiCo launches ‘Ready to Return’ refresher programme

PepsiCo have launched a new recruitment campaign aimed at giving returners to work the opportunity to refresh their skills.

Aimed at supply chain, finance and sales professionals who have taken a career break of at least 2 years, the company is offering a 10-12 week paid programme that will help them to restart their career.

‘Ready to Return’ (R2R) offers mentoring and coaching support, skills refresher training and the opportunity to acquire new ones. Those who complete the programme successfully will be considered for current PepsiCo vacancies that match their skills and capabilities.

The programme has already had a successful pilot in the US last year, resulting in all participants being offered contract extensions and half now in full-time roles with PepsiCo.

PepsiCo has an established reputation as an employer of choice, having been recognised as a Top Employer for 7 years in a row and as a Times Top 50 Employer for Women for 13 consecutive years. R2R is the next initiative in a market-leading series of flexible working and diversity programmes that include Strategies for Success, designed to accelerate the careers of talented female middle-managers, and a mentoring partnership with “Inspiring Women”, to connect employers with young women and break down gender stereotypes.

The company is also innovative in offering special summer and winter hours during the months of June/July/August and December, where employees whose roles are not time-critical can choose to work compressed hours and leave early on Fridays.

Jesper Petersen, Vice President, Human Resources, PepsiCo UK & Ireland, said: “Attracting and engaging a diverse range of people is critical to our success and at the heart of our business strategy.

People who take career breaks, either through necessity or choice, often find it difficult to get their careers back on track. The R2R programme gives candidates coaching and support to rebuild their confidence and refresh their skills. We want to attract and retain the best talent out there and hope that this programme will unveil some strong contenders."

Applications for R2R are open at until 22 June 2018.
