Penna raise £1,000 for Barnardo’s proving they’re no scrooges


It’s always nice to give good news stories some space, particularly when it’s for a charity as worthy as Barnardo’s. Last year was the first time Penna ran a Christmas campaign for Barnardo’s and they were determined to do something as notable for 2017.

The campaign was run on social media, on Penna’s website and as part of an email campaign. The aim? To turn the three Penna directors (depicted as moody scrooges) and their frowns, upside down. Each click generated a £1 donation and Penna were pleased to smash their target allowing them to donate a very generous £1,000. The campaign generated almost 23k impressions on LinkedIn and just over 34k impressions on Twitter.  

Javed Khan. Chief Executive of Barnado's spoke about the campaign, saying “Many thanks to all our friends at Penna. The Moody Scrooges social media campaign was a brilliant idea! We will make sure the money raised will bring a smile to vulnerable children.”

Julie Towers, Penna MD, was also thrilled with how it went, saying, ”Being able to present Barnardo’s with another cheque for £1,000 will bring smiles to the whole Penna family. We have a vested interest in the future of the UK’s talent and hope through our efforts we help Barnardo’s support more children and young people to fulfil their potential. Thank you to everyone for clicking and making us smile. Happy New Year."
