M&S gets ‘Smart’ about early years’ recruitment


M&S have brought on board innovative recruitment service provider, Smart Resourcing Solutions (SRS), to streamline recruitment of early years careers candidates.

As part of renewed investment in assessment materials, M&S appointed SRS to deliver a multiple approach solution across the UK and its 4 assessment centres in London, Manchester and Newcastle.

SRS already deliver more than 500 video and telephone interviews at the start of M&S’s annual recruitment activity, and are now joining the dots in the entire process, designing and implementing a new lean system to help find talent quickly at assessment stage.

The aim is to increase the calibre of candidates at final decision-making stages by improving the assessment process: each year, M&S receive thousands of applications for around 200 roles in graduate, leadership, apprenticeship programmes, among others.

Working closely with M&S’s HR team and stakeholders across the business, SRS implemented a number of new elements designed to refresh the assessment process and make it exciting for assessors and applicants.

This partnership with M&S is just one example of how SRS continues to expand its portfolio and grow its unique approach, from accredited, bespoke assessment simulation days for Universities, through to direct and bespoke design of recruitment materials and outsourced delivery of graduates and apprentices for employers, SRS has been building a unique approach that is proving successful.
