In-house Recruitment Awards 2017 winners announced


The winners of the 2017 In-house Recruitment Awards were announced last night, with a total of 24 awards handed out across a range of recruitment disciplines.

Some of the industry’s biggest names were represented on the night, which was attended by over 700 recruiters, agencies and clients.

Agency winners on the night included: Pink Squid, which won the Best Graduate Recruitment Strategy Award for its work with Deloitte; Havas UK, which won Best Use of Mobile; and Creed Comms, which took home awards for its work with Kuehne & Nagel and Bard.

Recruitment Innovation

With an emphasis on using assessments, this winner showcased impressive results and feedback in applications, costings, quality of hire, retention and more.

Best Newcomer

Kerry Foods
A results driven entry proving their worth within the business. In a tough industry with a reasonably unknown brand they highlighted improvement on cost per hire, good internal recognition and significant improvements made.

Best Recruitment Advertising Campaign

Kuehne & Nagel (Creed)
The winner of this category was able to provide clever solutions to assist in overcoming challenges in an incredibly competitive market. With a great understanding of the candidate’s needs and desires, the campaign ticked all the boxes.

Best Graduate Recruitment Strategy

Deloitte (Pink Squid)
A tough category with each entrant doing impressive work, it made it a tough category to judge. But with better showcase of innovation, creativity and metrics, there was one Finalist who had a winners’ edge.

Best On-Boarding Strategy

Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (Basis Media)
The front-runner for this category successfully implemented a new system to assist in the streamlining of processes, providing value knowledge to new recruits and saw impressive results in retention, no-shows, and candidate experience across their high volumes of recruitment.

Best Candidate Experience

The candidates are quite clearly at the heart of this Recruitment teams’ role, providing an outstanding service and care for candidates through sheer hard work and a personal touch. Showcasing within their entry impressive metrics, good candidate feedback all within a very tough market with high turnover.

Best Employee Referral Strategy

Bard (Creed Comms)
The winner of this category displayed a successful, sincere campaign with a strong business case, extraordinary results and a clearly defined strategy that aligned with their company values.

Best Recruitment Video

Greenwood Campbell
In this ever-increasingly popular category, with innovation and creativity at the heart of all entries, this winner produced a video with real insight into the company and their values, successfully steered towards their target audience.

Best Use of Social Media

The winner of this category created an inspiring, thought-provoking and honest campaign to highlight their company environment, resulting in real employee engagement, positive branding, press coverage and superb metrics. A worthy winner for this impressive category.

Best Employer Brand

Following a substantial redesign, this entrant positioned themselves as a winner through a series of well-thought out, innovative campaigns all with a clear focus on improving their employer brand. Their reputation has triumphed significantly, elevating them to be perceived as a ‘great place to work.’

Best RPO

Capita – Essex Recruitment Team
Evidenced within their entry, the winner for the Best RPO category has clearly highlighted their importance to the business through assisting with new legislation, implementing a number of new technologies, an impressive direct fill rate and a high candidate satisfaction score.

Best Career Website

Compass Group
This winning careers site has recently undergone an overhaul after research identified a number of key areas needing to be changed. The winner was able to clearly highlight functionality, creativity and awareness of their jobseeker audience whilst also showcasing their company values and ethos.

Best Diversity & Inclusion Strategy

Transport for London
A tough category! The winning entry shows a clearly defined strategy with set KPIs, impeccable execution and notable results across a number of areas of focus, all resulting in a positive business impact aligned to the company vision.

Best Use of Mobile

Adoption and execution of using mobile within recruitment is still a tricky concept, but this winner was able to identify an innovative mobile solution for both current and prospective employees to be able to engage, on-board, refer and enhance their recruitment offering.

An exciting demonstration of executive recruitment service offerings highlighting their team’s value-add, business impact, key performance metrics, benchmarking, diversity, approach, strategy, research and pipelining. This executive search strategy is an impressive winner!

Best In-house Recruiter (individual award)

This individual has demonstrated a brilliant level of achievement through implementation of new technologies, high recruitment metrics, establishing the recruitment function and creating a successful partnership with the business.

Best In-house Recruitment Manager (individual award)

A number of remarkable entries in this category, but one particular stand-out entry has reimagined their processes through astounding innovation and data usage on a small budget, with stellar impact and hiring metrics. Identifying issues for the wider industry, not just their business the judges described this team as “simply fantastic”.

Best Retail or Consumer Goods Team
