HarperCollins’s blind recruitment process


The HarperCollins Graduate Scheme opened for applications on 4th March.  But for the first time, applications will follow HarperCollins’s blind recruitment process, which removes identifying details such as those relating to gender, race and education from applications before the shortlisting stage.

Shortlisted applicants will take part in two assessment days and present to the publisher’s executive committee including CEO Charlie Redmayne. The successful candidates will begin an 18-month rotation around the business in October 2019, taking in aspects of the business including editorial, marketing, PR, sales and digital, while other candidates will join HarperCollins’ talent pipeline, with the opportunity to interview for other entry level roles.

By extending blind recruitment into the process and training all our hiring managers on resourcing and unconscious bias training, we are creating as level a playing field as possible, and we look forward to meeting some extremely talented and capable candidates."
