Change of strategy for ethnic titles

The Ethnic Media Group plans to stop publishing two of its titles next year while relaunching two more with regional editions.

Caribbean Times and Asian Times are to be merged with New Nation and Eastern Eye respectively.

Eastern Eye will be published in four editions (London, the Midlands, the North and Scotland) with New Nation appearing in three ( London, the Midlands and the North). The move will enable the group to produce newspapers that are closer to the communities they serve and, as a result, significantly increase the distribution of both titles.
