With summer well and truly over and Christmas looming in the not too distant future (don’t panic), our agency friends are busy on all fronts. Here’s our latest round-up of news, announcements, people moves and awards from the agency world.

Smart Resourcing Solutions

Continuing their relationship with M&S, Smart Resourcing Solutions are currently helping the retailer to design new assessment materials for an internship and industrial placement scheme.

As interest in assessment simulations continues, Smart is working with new client, the University of Canterbury Business School, to deliver a simulation in December.

Plus, with the agency’s university work continuing to grow, Louise Grimes has been promoted to University Partnerships Manager in order to support university clients with an outstanding level of service in the design and delivery of simulations. 

In other agency news, MD Sophie Milliken was Highly Commended at the HSBC National Women in Business Awards and was also a finalist in the Best Women Awards, Recruitment Services category. The company has also been shortlisted in the Innovation category at the Great British Entrepreneurial Awards, in recognition of their successful large scale assessment simulation programme.

Smart Resourcing Solutions are confirmed to exhibit at the ISE Showcase 2018.

Havas People

Havas People recently joined forces with Conran Design Group to host the event ‘You say People are your greatest asset. How do you prove it?’. The session discussed ideas on how businesses can build authenticity into their people strategy and Havas People’s own research into best talent practice for business success. Strategy Director Graeme Wright, Sarah Churchman of PwC and Steve Hurst from Sage all shared their thoughts.

Last month, Havas People picked up two awards at the RBA Awards in Manchester: gold for Best Illustration/Photography for the creation of, the careers portal for public sector jobs in the North West, and the trophy for Employer Brand on behalf of client, Schneider Electric.

Both projects have received further nominations; is up for a DADI Award while the employer brand work with Schneider Electric is shortlisted at both the Personnel Today Awards and HR Innovation Awards.

Talent Works International

Last month Talent Works International were honoured to win Best Employee Communication and Engagement Initiative at the RBA awards in partnership with BNP Paribas.

Next month they are nominated for five In-House Recruitment awards, including Best Employer Brand and Best RPO, for work with Avon, Ericsson and Sage.

The Talent Works team is growing, this quarter’s new recruits include Fey Ijaware as Junior Developer and Meera Popat as Graduate Client Services Executive. Meera joins as the first graduate on their development programme where she will rotate around each area of the business over the course of the next 12 months.

In other news, the Northampton team raised over £2000 for KidsAid by taking part in the Three Peaks Challenge. The Manchester and Northampton offices are also set to take on the Wolf Run next month in Leicestershire.


SMRS recently ran a breakfast networking event in partnership with Recruitment Events Co., giving an insight to the employer branding projects they completed on behalf of clients, Mencap & Kerry Foods.

The team are also set to present employer branding work carried out on behalf of London North West NHS Trust at the IHR Manchester conference.

With all of this expertise, SMRS are running employer branding master classes in London & Manchester.

Plus, as well as being nominated twice for Best Recruitment Advertising Campaign for work with Yodel and EasyJet at the IHR Awards, SMRS are sponsoring Wonkfest, an exciting new event in the UK HE calendar that is essentially a festival of wonkery and cutting edge debate about the future of universities.


Crunch continue to innovate across the board, especially in High Volume Recruitment where their understanding of sourcing methods can narrow targeting to focus on ideal candidates and indeed only advertise to the most appropriate candidates.

Crunch is also continuing to champion the use of video in recruitment, taking their lead from Google’s recent foray into video to showcase their work environment and attract potential candidates.  Crunch offers tips and advice on working with employees to showcase your company.

Plus, their expertise in leveraging the benefits of chat bots to help companies to recruit continues to grow. Crunch recommends using chat bots to automate answering of FAQs, increase efficiency, save time and eliminate time wasters.

AIA Worldwide

AIA recently picked up new client, Jaguar Land Rover, and are already looking forward to embarking on a number of new projects.

AIA would also like to welcome no less than 10 new joiners to the agency, including Project Managers and Creatives. This team growth comes at the same time as the agency has made it into the eConsultancy Top 100 Digital Agencies Report for the sixth year running.

In October, Nathan Perrott (Director of Digital Strategy) is speaking at RecTechFest to showcase AIA’s TalentBrew Talent Attraction Technology, while the agency is also exhibiting at HR Tech World in Amsterdam, where they’ll also be sharing the 2018 edition of the RecTech Hype Cycle, which charts the emerging recruiting technologies for the year ahead. AIA have also welcomed the return of Bake Off by encouraging 11 of their star bakers to shine in the kitchen while raising money for National Association of Crohn's & Colitis Disease and Motor Neurone Disease Association.


CMS has been named Head Office Supplier of the Year in the annual Center Parcs Supplier Awards 2017 in recognition of its provision of a range of services in support of the holiday company’s national recruitment operation.

CMS Account Director, Pat Gallagher, said: “To be recognised in this way by a major client is fantastic reward for the hard work of our team over the past year.  CMS is one of very few full–service marketing agencies to offer a specialist department for recruitment marketing and it has always been one of the company’s strongest areas of expertise.”

Staff numbers at the company’s Leeds HQ have almost doubled since 2014.
