Big night for TMP and WDAD at PPMA AwardsFriday, 30 March 2007Just two agencies accounted for 70% of the top awards at the 2007 PPMA Recruitment Awards, which were presented at a gala dinner at Brighton’s Hilton Metropole on the evening of Thursday 29th March. TMP came away with no less than nine category awards, while WDAD picked up four category awards plus the top prize for best recruitment work of the year, won on behalf of the Civil Service. Tribal can count themselves unfortunate, having notched up more finalist entries than any other agency (an average of one per category, in fact) but converting only one of them into an award. This contrasts with 100% conversion rates for LawtonWare (two awards) and ThirtyThree (one award). Barkers, EuroRSCGRiley and Tribal also picked up one award apiece. The awards were presented by the many voices of Jon Culshaw together with PPMA president Phil Badley. It was interesting to note that the judging panel was made up entirely of representatives from the public sector and the media, with no agency or creative input. TMP are to be congratulated on their magnificent haul, while WDAD have emerged as something of a form side, having opened their award-winning account barely a year ago but picking up over a dozen trophies at various ceremonies since. Gaining the top prize at the PPMA awards was a real bonus, and MD Mike Heal and creative director Andy Holden were last seen ordering yet more champagne… The full list of winners is: HR/development/diversity, EuroRSCGRiley(for Blackpool Council); reinforcing employer brand, TMP (for GCHQ); housing, LawtonWare(for Southampton City Council); district council, TMP(for Shepway District Council); sustainability/regeneration/environment, WDAD(for the Civil Service); website, TMP(for HM Prison Service); emergency services, Tribal(for PITO); IT, Barkers(for SIS/MI6); support material, TMP(for GCHQ); social care, WDAD (for the London Borough of Sutton); education & children/young people, TMP(for Essex County Council); senior management, WDAD(for the Civil Service); county council, TMP(for Surrey County Council); graduates/trainees/apprentices, ThirtyThree(for the Audit Commission); unitary metropolitan authority, TMP(for the City and County of Swansea); central government, WDAD(for the MOD); campaign, TMP(for the Metropolitan Police); improving diversity, LawtonWare(for Brighton & Hove County Council); innovation, TMP(for the London Borough of Redbridge); best work of the year, WDAD(for the Civil Service). |
