Barkers’ survey boosts Prospects

A recent survey by Barkers (who produce the annual National Graduate Media Audit) has identified Prospects.ac.uk as the careers website of choice for job-seeking students and graduates.

The research, which sought the views of some 1,700 students, recent graduates and careers service professionals, took place in April.  85% of the respondents cited Prospects as their favoured careers website, putting it ahead of all its competitors.

172,869 final-year students - in other words, almost two-thirds (64%) of finalists - have now registered with the site, confirming its status as the most widely-used graduate recruitment website.  (This represents year-on-year growth of more than a third.)

One of the few graduate sites to be audited regularly, Prospects now attracts some 739,119 unique users a month, according to ABCe data for March 2008.

As the UK's official graduate careers website, Prospects also enjoys a unique relationship with university careers services - 98% of which use it more than once a week.  In addition, 92% of careers service professionals regularly refer students and graduates to its products and services.

Other Prospects features include email messaging (with over a quarter of a million registered users), SMS messaging (nearly 40,000 users), the recent introduction of video profiles, enhancements to digital magazines, and an increasingly popular presence on Facebook.
