Barkers consolidate in the Midlands, and appoint new CD

Barkers have announced a new strategy for their Midlands operations. The firm's Nottingham office is to close and, in future, all Midlands-based clients will be serviced from Birmingham. All Nottingham clients have been informed of the change. The plan is to use enhanced technology to deliver an improved service across the region, drawing on the skills base and resources in the Birmingham hub.

Andrew Soane (pictured right), Managing Director of Barkers' regional network, said: "I'm confident that this model will let us get even closer to our clients and partners across the region. We're working closely with the team in Nottingham, and hope to retain as many people as possible in new, Birmingham-based roles. We hope to have good news on this front soon".

Barkers have also announced the appointment of David Nute to the new role of Regional Creative Director.

David has over 20 years' experience in the advertising and marketing business, starting as a junior art director at Ogilvy & Mather and spending time with Bray Leino, McCann Erickson, Hall Harrison Cowley, and Third Wave Advertising (and their digital agency TW2) in Birmingham as Creative Director.

"I'm delighted David's decided to join us," says Andrew Soane. "He's tremendously experienced in B2B and consumer advertising, and has worked on some big clients and campaigns. He'll bring a different perspective to the role - and we're confident that will give us competitive edge".

Andrew adds: "These moves are part of the ambitious strategy we have in the regions. We've made a great start this year, picking up 10 pieces of new business. I look forward to reporting more successes as the year progresses!"
