And now for something completely different...

... from the Recruitment Society.  Once in a while it likes to introduce a ‘surprise' theme, and the April event (to be held on Thursday 3rd) will consist of a participative session designed to demonstrate the power of various forms of communication, motivation and relaxation - and how all this can be linked in to assessment, and also the attainment of leadership and development goals.  It's said that the results, in terms of improved assessment of a range of abilities and characteristics, can be "remarkable."

Although the idea behind the method isn't new, it has now been refined to deliver "remarkably accurate results" - and the Recruitment Society is one of the first organisations to be asked to test it live.  So if you're interested in seeing it for yourself at first hand, with the possibility of adapting your own selection processes accordingly, please make an effort to come along.

(We are assured that, despite the fact it's a participative session, "members and guests will not be asked to embarrass themselves too much," by the way.)

The evening's presenters will be Richard Jones and Adrian Bawtree.  Venue is The Economist's offices at 25 St James's Street, London SW1A 1HA.  As usual, pre-meeting drinks will commence at 6pm, with the formal session running from around 6:30 to 7:30 followed by refreshments till 8:30.  As the Society says, "Hospitality at The Economist is legendary and another excellent reason for attending!"

The cost is £10 for associate members and £25 for guests, new contacts and non-members.  If you're planning to attend, please contact Richard Taylor on 020 7917 1728 or email admin@recruitmentsociety.org.uk.
