2009 Real World Awards offer internships as well as cashWednesday, 6 May 2009Now in their sixth year, the Real World Awards have teamed up with prominent graduate recruiter Enterprise Rent-A-Car to offer paid summer internships in addition to the usual cash prizes. This year, the most enterprising students will be eligible for one of five internships (of between eight and twelve weeks) to be awarded at any of Enterprise's 340 locations around the UK. In addition, prize money of £5,000 will be divided between the best entries. As Enterprise Rent-A-Car's European HR director, Donna Miller, says: "Internships can make the difference for students entering employment upon graduation - students who take them up will set themselves apart from their peers. "At Enterprise, our goal is to help students become more marketable," she continues, "and to gain the essential business skills that they will need to succeed down the line." Established in 2004, the Real World Awards are designed to celebrate the achievements of outstanding graduates across the UK. With each succeeding year, entrants have continued to raise the bar in terms of their extra-curricular activities, and this year looks to be no exception. And given that the 2009 competition has just the one category, ‘enterprising graduate of the year', the competition should be even hotter than usual! The closing date for this year's competition is Tuesday 30th June, and the awards ceremony is due to take place in London in September. |
