The John Lewis Partnership took the principal award – for overall top employer – at the 2011 Workingmums Top Employer Awards, designed to celebrate leading companies’ achievements in the fields of diversity and work-life balance.
The partnership was praised by the judges for “the comprehensive and embedded nature of what it offered on work-life balance.”
The awards ceremony was held at London’s Soho Hotel on Wednesday 5th October with business author Alison Maitland as keynote speaker.
Seven other category awards were presented, including three new for this year – childcare, talent attraction and working mums’ champion. These went to:
Childcare: John Lewis Partnership
Employee engagement: Prudential
Innovation in flexible working: Accenture (last year’s overall winner)
SME (1-25 employees): Hireserve (IT firm)
SME (26-250 employees): DUO (shoe retailer)
Talent attraction: Virtual Sales Team
Working mums’ champion: Mia Drennan, Square Mile Connections
